Springfields attended a Dr Ken workshop held at St Mary’s School in Calne. Dr Ken offers science based workshops by making them fun and engaging. The topic was Gravity and some pupils were able to join in and show their own talents, like Corey Overend balancing a peacock feather on his hand. In the afternoon the pupils joined in an experiment using the parachute and came up with new ways to try out wave patterns.

Corey Overend and Travis Balecke

Springfields have recently joined the national Let’s get cooking school club. The aim is to teach young people and their carers new cooking skills. We aim to do lots of cooking and prepare plenty of tasty dishes that the pupils can taste and hopefully make again.
Tuesday 16th March saw Springfields participate in a national cookathon. Forty children got involved and cooked a vegetatrian and meat cheesy pasta. Staff and children actively got involved in chopping, grating, frying and making sauces and produced cheesy pasta for the teachers to purchase. Fun was had by all and the students enjoyed learning new skills.
