Engage National Awards Ceremony at Springfields School 27th June 2011

Engage in their Future is a charitable organisation that seeks to improve services for children with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD) and was formed to enable Head Teachers working with BESD education to address and influence issues affecting this sector locally, regionally and nationally. The inaugural National Awards Ceremony took place at Springfields School on 27th June 2011. Inspirational speaker, rugby star Scott Quinnell told guests of his battle to overcome dyslexia and was there to present the awards. Amonst the winners were students from Springfields: Jessica Frostick and Calum Carter were amongst the team who won 1st prize in ‘Team of the Year’ for hiking 130km across the Arctic Circle; the Yanbu Yarners came 3rd in this category for creating the Chinese banners which are on display within the school grounds. Henry Bosworth took 1st place in the ‘Outstanding Selflessness in the face of Danger or Adversity’ class and Corey Evans came 3rd in the ‘Outstanding Personal Progress’ category. Well done to all young people involved, we are all extremely proud of you.
